7.2V 2150mAh GPS navigator battery design scheme

The Navigation Satellite System (CNSS) is a domestically developed global positioning and communication system in China. It is the third mature navigation system after the US Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Russian GLONASS.

Since developing our navigation system domestically, we have also developed handheld device batteries for the navigation system. This navigation device battery is suitable for in-vehicle use and has been launched to the market. Our navigation device battery solution adopts mature lithium iron phosphate battery technology, with strong and lasting battery life. Compared with ordinary GPS lithium batteries used domestically, it features high capacity, stable charge and discharge performance, good cycle life, good high and low temperature performance, and strong shock resistance.

 

Design Requirements:

I. Navigation Device Battery Design Requirements:

According to product specifications and customer requirements, design a navigation device battery that matches the host, integrating high-specification safety performance, good charge and discharge performance, and outstanding long-term reliability into the solution.

II. Navigation Device Battery Design Scheme:

1) Protection Board (PCM): This is mainly the protection circuit designed for rechargeable high-capacity battery packs. It can provide overcharge, over-discharge, short-circuit, overcurrent, and over-temperature protection for lithium batteries.

2) Protection IC (Protection IC): The main protection function chip of the design scheme. It monitors the battery cells online in real-time, ensuring that the cells operate within a safe, stable, and efficient range. The TI BQ3060 intelligent chip has customizable programming protection parameters (integrated internal FAE) and communicates with the navigation device host to provide accurate battery level display, temperature display, battery health indication, and battery charge and discharge status indication.

3) Overcurrent Protection Fuse (FUSE): Mainly designed for secondary protection functions. The FUSE has an overcurrent protection function, and the FUSE in the battery product can prevent the occurrence of unsafe high-current charging and discharging of the battery.

4) Lithium Battery: 18650/2150mAh/7.2V lithium iron phosphate battery

5) Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET): The MOSFET acts as a switch in the protection circuit.

6) Battery Pack Packaging: The outer packaging can be customized according to customer needs.

7) Shock Resistance: The inside of the battery is filled with epoxy resin or neutral silicone gel to achieve ultra-strong shock resistance.
